After battling an eating disorder, anxiety, as well as recovering from a traumatic injury, Danielle took over a pre-existing yoga space and created Body Solace Studio in June 2015. She named the studio “Body Solace” based around the idea of finding “solace” (comfort and support) within the body through yoga and Pilates.
We believe in finding solace through movement. We believe it’s never about the poses, it’s about how the poses make you feel.
We believe that exercising should not be a punishment for what you ate, and it’s not a way to transform your body into a so-called “ideal body type” (whatever that means…). We believe that exercising is a form of self-love… it gives your body what it needs to age, move, and live your best life.
We’re not perfect, and we don’t have all the solutions… But you do, deep down inside. The solace you’re seeking is already inside of you, you just need to uncover it. We hope that by sharing some of the experiences we’ve had and the things we’ve learned, we can help you find solace within as well.
Our mission is to offer solace for your body, mind and soul… Yoga and Pilates are simply a vehicle for getting there.
Our class styles include: Yang Yoga, Flow Yoga, Heated/Hot Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Chair Yoga, and Pilates-Fusion.
(We also share our schedule with MacKinnon Fitness, who offers Group Fitness classes in the gym next to us.)
